Guadeloupe and tetiyette (post 3)

first, heres some info on Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe is an overseas region of France comprised of a cluster of islands in the Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean Sea. The island group is north of Dominica and south-east of Montserrat, forming the southern edge of the Leeward Islands. The islands in the archipelago were formed by volcanic activity; Grande Soufrière, which is the highest peak in the Lesser Antilles at 1467 m high, is still active and last erupted in 1976 prompting a mass evacuation. There are two main islands making up the territory of Guadeloupe, Basse-Terre Island and Grande-Terre which are only separated by a thin strip of sea, a channel known as The Salt River. The separation is so small and travel between the two is so easy that the two islands are often considered one large island. Basse-Terre features rough volcanic terrain, while Grande-Terre features a gentler topography. A few smaller islands, Marie-Galante, La Désirade and Îles des Saintes make up the rest of the archipelago and are under the jurisdiction of Guadeloupe.  The total area of the territory is 1,628 km2. The climate of Guadeloupe is tropical with temperatures moderated by trade winds. The year is divided into 2 seasons, a dry season (referred to as Lent) from January to June. The rest of the year is wet and referred to simply as winter. Throughout its history, Guadeloupe has been devastated by several hurricanes and tropical storms.Columbus first noted the island in November 1493 while seeking out a source of fresh water. The island was called Santa María de Guadalupe de Extremadura in reference to the image of the Virgin Mary seen in the Spanish monastery of the same name. He is also credited with being the first European to discover the pineapple when he found them growing on the island during the same expedition. Guadeloupe was first settled by the French Company of the American Islands in 1635, after exterminating the original Carib inhabitants of the islands the islands were formally annexed by the Kingdom of France in 1674. The islands would change hands between the British French and Swedish until the 1815 Treaty of Vienna granted the French Government full control over the islands. As a region of France Guadeloupe is subject to French law and regulations and the Head of State is the French President represented by a local prefect.

now heres my analysis of tetiyette, so this story, at its core is a cautionary tale, to not judge what is only on the surface, because whats underneath is more important. the author shows this by using the first two suitors, being a pig and a goat, which are rather unattractive animals, tetiyette denies them due to there looks, even though they might be very decent people, which further supports the core of this story. however when the devil comes around, she accepts him without a second thought due to how good he looked, but she grew to regret it over time, after she found out his true colors, it was too late. he was abusive toward her and was treated poorly, represented by how she claimed the devil, eating her up, this direct quote supports this "that night, the devil began to eat up the young girl" (pg 2/3) this represents her also being so absorbed into this abusive relationship that she could not leave. the intended audience for this would be most people whom focus too much on the physical traits of a person and not the things that lay beneath.

  1. You need to check how you begin sentences - correct wording, capitalization, etc.
Your " analysis" is more summary than analysis.
